A couple of events this week led me to choosing this UK hip hop classic. Firstly I rediscovered Illa Man’s – The Things Mixtape, which led me to remember that there is still some good UK hip hop around, and then I heard Kamanchi Sly doing his “Ayia Napa, Ayia Napa, du-du du-du” on the awful garage anthem, Do You Really Like it. POW!!!

I picked up a few records this week and one was Fly Girls (B-Boys Beware) put together by Soul Jazz Records. It’s a nice compilation of female rappers but doesn’t have Rah Digga in there for some reason…

Penny University

London’s second best coffee roasters, Square Mile (Monmouth will always be my favourite), have just opened their first retail space called Penny University, although they only have six seats at the bar and don’t do take away. Filter coffee only and a lesson in how coffee should be brewed too. It is also on Redchurch Street which leads to one of London’s best cafés, The Albion Café, Bakery & Food Store.
